About Ashesi University College

At Ashesi University College students enroll in a wide range of courses, all taught in English. The University is a coeducational institution whose goal is to educate African leaders of exceptional integrity and professional ability. The University, founded in 2002, while small (800) has quickly gained a reputation for innovation and quality education in Ghana. It is the first university in Ghana to adopt and blend the liberal arts with majors in Computer Science, Management Information Systems and Business Administration. International students comprise 21% of the student body. Students are fully integrated into this multicultural campus and student life and are welcome to become involved in clubs, activities and student life.

Location:
The University is set on 100 beautiful acres in the Berekuso hills overlooking Accra (pop. 2.27 million), Ghana’s capital and largest city and the country’s economic and administrative hub. The University’s commitment to environmental sustainability is evidenced in campus operations and facilities, with solar energy management, rainwater storage and efforts to create a clean environment on campus and in the surrounding community. The work of its Global Climate Technology Center is contributing to world-wide development of climate technology enterprises. Residence halls and apartment style living, with dining facilities or kitchens are available. Ghana increasingly is a destination for visitors from around the world, who come to enjoy the Atlantic coast beaches and abundant nature, wildlife preserves and parks. Architectural landmarks, castles and monuments reflect Ghana’s colonial history, alongside 21st century modernity, representative of its emergence as a leading African nation.
